ON Sunday my diabetic son required medical help for an eye condition.
He phoned the East Oxford Health Centre, had a telephone consultation, and an appointment booked for later that morning.
The doctor on duty removed something from his eye, but in order to check that there was no residual problem, made an appointment within twenty minutes for a consultation with a Registrar at the Eye Hospital.
He was seen and treated immediately. There must be many more examples of such impressive service in the NHS. Why don’t we hear about them?
