THE Labour Party leadership election is a joke.

The whole process should have been properly established long before the election commenced.

The talk of excluding people joining the Labour Party for £3 because they may have supported another party is somewhat hypocritical.

Wasn’t Robert Jackson a long-standing Tory MP for Wantage constituency before crossing the floor to become a Labour MP ?

Another reason used for excluding people is, they do not believe in the ethos of what the Labour party stands for.

Then can I take people back to the 1996 SODC housing stock transfer campaign.

Nationally Labour was committed to council housing. Labour was certain to be elected, due to the unpopularity of the Tories nationally.

Yet local labour went against this ethos.

Today's Letters

Had the General Election been called earlier than it was, then the stock transfer would not have gone ahead!

The infiltration that is being talked about commenced many years ago.

Labour has lost its way – as the General Election showed.

How can the public have confidence in the party while the shambolic manner of the current election is being played out in the media?

In my view, it should be deferred until a proper election process is invoked.
