I HAVE, this week, had cause to make three visits to Stanford in the Vale recycling centre.

On each occasion there were six to eight cars queuing, in addition to the four in the bays. It is sufficiently close to Wantage to make a visit a manageable part of clearing excess garden refuse, tidying the loft or garage, and on the evidence this of this week it is very well used.

I hope that Oxfordshire Councillors will reflect on the potential environmental impact of limiting the recycling options to Drayton - longer car journeys, less recycling, more fly tipping.

Today's Letters

I hope rather more that they will consider the reason why we have government at all – to provide services and improve the quality of life.

If they do they will keep the Stanford site open.
