THE closure of the Ampleforth Arms in Risinghurst is an opportunity to look at the options for its future use.

As local councillors we support the initiative shown by the local community to pursue the option of seeking community asset status which will allow time for all the possibilities to be explored.

We have talked to a number of local residents and they would like to see a community pub providing a range of services to reflect the changing needs of the area.

This is an exciting time for Risinghurst and a great opportunity to see how the pub can be used to meet the needs of the community.
