NOW the elections are over and the Conservatives have taken full control of Cherwell District Council, are the residents of Kidlington expecting more of our council tax and more attention to the fast deterioration of our village coming our way? I think not.
How many years has the ongoing saga of the so-called pedestrian High Street been going on?
The sad fiasco of the rising bollard and the free for all to motorists on the High Street, park where you like, be it on yellow lines, pavement, and exit the top end across the Oxford Road to the traffic lights. Our Friday and Saturday market shrinks every week.
We need more attention to our village full stop.
The police also need to be more visible. When was a policemen on foot seen in our High Street or, for that matter, seen anywhere in Kidlington? In Bicester and Banbury, they are about in pairs. Why are they treated differently from Kidlington?
