We are never too old to learn, and this well-known saying is again proven by the polite letter from Richard Samuelson (April 30).
My picture of what I thought was a sculpture of St George on the wall of the Austin Reed shop illustrates how easy it is to make errors.
Following the correction by Mr Samuelson I did an internet search and now understand that St George was not the only one to tangle with the dragon. With hindsight, placing the sculpture in St Michael’s Street would have been a strange decision.
I share Mr Samuelson’s interest in knowing more about the origin of the statue.
