I NOTICE that on April 1 you referred to the meeting held at St Andrew’s Linton Road on March 15th as a hustings.
I would be grateful if you could make clear to your readers that this meeting was not a hustings but an attempt to encourage our congregation and visitors to engage with the political process and use their vote at the forthcoming election.
None of the speakers – which included the former Bishop of Oxford and local councillor Andrew Gant as well as Nicola Blackwood – advocated voting for their particular party.
Rev Canon Andrew Wingfield Digby
Vicar, St Andrew’s Church Linton Road, Oxford
