Bob Soden (March 2) says he will vote UKIP but is unsure the part would be effective in government.

About 100 years ago, the Labour Party was formed and began to form a government about 20 years later.

UKIP will be 22 years old later this year.

Candidates have been assessed and vetted with the seriousness and stringency for them to show that they have the credentials to take their rightful place in the House of Commons – if so elected.

Amongst the many issues UKIP MPs would battle for would be to introduce the Citizens' Initiative to allow the public to initiate referendums on issues of major public interest.

And UKIP MPs will acknowledge and recognise the unifying British culture, which is open to anyone who wishes to identify with British values regardless of their ethnic or religious background.

(And this includes Mr Soden’s perfect example of our great British humour in his letter! Great!)
