THE St Giles ‘speed’ trap, notorious locally I have only now discovered, certainly caught me.
As a visitor to Oxford many times, but only for the first time driving in the city centre, I was dismayed to receive my ‘speeding’ ticket for doing 28mph.
Pootling along a clear, dry, wide, quiet road yet caught ‘speeding’?
For somebody with just three points in my previous 49 years of motoring, this was very, very annoying. I guess there must be 20mph signs, but emerging from a parking spot in Beaumont Street I certainly hadn’t spotted them. A novel way to give your visitors a memory of Oxford?
