NOW we’ve heard it all from Ukip (March 16). The daft party’s local representative claims to support the NHS. The reality is that Nigel Farage wants to scrap the National Health Service. He wants to replace it with an insurance-based health system run by private companies.
Only Labour, which after all founded the NHS, will save it. A Labour Government will create 20,000 more nurses and 8,000 more GPs. We will join up services from home to hospital. Labour has promised to guarantee GP appointments within 48 hours and cancer tests within one week.
Of course ending hospital car parking charges will simply take money from the NHS, and create gridlock around our hospitals. Your correspondent should think again.
The reality is that Ukip is even more Tory than the Tories.
