I WAS interested to see the letter from Mrs Parkinson, her late husband Ken taught me to ride a motorcycle, the one shown in the picture.
Even stranger, he was PC105 and took my late father’s number when dad was promoted. The house in Derwent Avenue was leased to the police and allocated to Ken when we moved out on Xmas Eve 1958. There were some seven or eight police officers in the avenue, sadly now all dead.
