WHILE reading the Oxford Mail (December 18) I was stunned to come across the breathtakingly beautiful photo of Lady Wardington in the obituaries section.

She was a former red-headed model who graced many a magazine cover in the 1950s, and who had sadly passed away on November 8, aged 87. She was better known as Audrey White and her classic movie star looks were truly memorising.

Interestingly, as it says in the story, as an indication of her striking beauty – Lady Wardington was once classed ‘too beautiful’ to become a BBC announcer because she would alarm TV viewers. A classic beauty personified.
