“We are all in this together” is David Cameron’s clarion call. All except it appears our county councillors. Those who voted for the draconian cuts to save money and then voted to put up their own expenses should hang their greedy heads in shame.

They should take a leaf out of the book of many people in the county who work tirelessly for others often at their own expense and do not seek any reward other that to serve the community.

No one asked the councillors to stand for election so if they can’t afford to do the job without allowances then do not stand.

It also raises the question of just what councillors do as all the decisions seem to be made by the highly paid “mandarins” in the council offices.

Perhaps a reduction in councillors is the answer to save money.
