I endorse the call for more people to use public transport to combat road chaos such as that on the A34 recently, but this has to be dependent on measures to enable buses to get through.

I was on the 16.45 Swindon to Oxford, which got held up at the A420/A34 junction as a result of the tailbacks, and again en route to the city centre presumably because motorists were choosing to go this way to avoid the A34.

However, the bus got in at 18.29 which would have connected with the 18.30 to Cambridge, except that the bus waiting to leave was in fact the 18.00 to Bedford.

The real 18.30 didn’t leave till 19.20 and then lost another 55min on the A34 between the A44 roundabout and the M40. Surely the driver should have seen the tailbacks on the way in and found another route? Looking at the map I suggest going via Gosford, Islip and Ambrosden as used by route T94, or was this route blocked too?
