Oxford is a city in distress. We have very major traffic problems at the moment and an underlying problem with our sewage system.

Ian Hudspeth’s suggestion of an underground tunnel is ok for bigger cities but not Oxford.

Oxford is a small city and that is one of its major problems. The centre of Oxford is too compact and all the city’s park-and-rides are right on the edge and are slowly becoming a big part of the problem as they are becoming embroiled with city life.

Also, regarding the Thames Water survey of our sewage system; we need to halt all major developments that will impact on our already overstretched sewage system.

There have been major problems with both the Northway and Marston underground sewage pumping stations yet the development of Barton Park, just up the hill, seems to be going ahead without thought for the Northway and Marston residents who have to suffer the consequences. Sort out problems now, not later when it is too late.

Both city and county councillors have to start listening to the public and their ideas on solutions to these problems.
