AS pensioners, we often frequent hospital appointments on a regular basis.
Last Friday we had a midday appointment at the Churchill, and had planned our long trip from Banbury using Stagecoach’s ‘on bus’ timetables, and of course, our concessions passes.
Due to where we live, we decided to get a taxi to Banbury bus station to speed things up.
However, the taxi company arrived late and we missed our bus and had to wait for the next one.
Fortunately the S4 was on time and the lovely driver greeted us with a smile and listened to our moans sympathetically. We could not fault the bus or the driving at all as he sped us into Summertown with ease.
We only waited a short time before the 700 service arrived (on time according to the scrolling display).
Again we were over the moon with the pleasant and courteous driver, and soon we arrived at the Churchill, with ten minutes to spare.
The return journeys were equally as pleasant as the ride in, and as people always seem to have a negative attitude towards bus drivers these days, we thought we would turn the tables for a change.
Well done, Stagecoach.
