I SEE that the Department of Environment can no longer afford to dredge to prevent flooding.
Once again we have another giant quango of overpaid jobsworths.
When we had the Thames Conservancy, dredging took place regularly and flooding was prevented.
Now it is a stable door situation with no thought for the poor old public who pay the wages, and for their fancy offices. I wonder how many are now employed compared to the old days?
One day this country will learn that big is not best. The railways are a good example.
Let’s nationalise crime then it definitely will not pay. Get rid of these Police Commissioners at the same time and save even more money.
