There is no way people will walk the extra distance to the new crossings given approval in Abingdon. So they will take their chances near a busy and complex junction.
Added to the problems will be the extra traffic and increased congestion, on an already overworked road. Then on top of this is the plan for 70 more homes in Drayton.
Drayton Road/Marcham Road and Ock Street are approaching gridlock as it is.
The council has done nothing to alleviate the problems, apart from tinker with Stratton Way, preferring to let Abingdon choke itself to death.
Things will get no easier, either, with the proposed development to the North. Still, I expected no more from our town and county councils.
