Gathering memories of Rolling Stones city gig

It’s 50 years since the Rolling Stones played a show at Oxford’s Town Hall as part of their rise to become perhaps Britain’s most well known group after The Beatles and certainly its most long lasting.

I’m compiling a people's history of the Stones and if any of your readers were at the show back in 1963 and would like to share their memories – who they went with, what they remember of the gig, whether they enjoyed it – I’d love to hear from them either by email or post.

Where will the next vehicle come to rest?

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

11:00am Thursday 5th March 2015

RECENTLY, probably in the hours of darkness, athe driver of a bright blue vehicle drove across the grass verge and into my newly rebuilt driveway wall opposite the Red Cow in Chesterton, causing considerable damage. There were no witnesses but there is paint residue on the bricks and the stonework. I would have thought so much more of that driver if he or she had come to the door and acknowledged what had happened.

Don't expect to get a receipt, apparently

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

YOUR report on fees for care on February 25 has a nice picture of me, but omits the main point of my three-minute speech to the county council cabinet the previous day.

Why is my post delivered as late as 5.30pm?

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

ONCE upon a time, you could almost tell the time of day by the delivery of post Royal Mail made in my road.

Seeing PC105 on his bike brought back memories

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

I WAS interested to see the letter from Mrs Parkinson, her late husband Ken taught me to ride a motorcycle, the one shown in the picture.

Were they tipped off or was it a premonition?

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

11:00am Thursday 5th March 2015

I WAS prompted to write and express my opinion after reading yesterday’s front page story “THEY SAW NO EVIL” and I must say it does not surprise me that the two people pictured on the front page have denied all knowledge.
