Buggins’ turn to learn about their family roots

Buggins’ turn to learn about their family roots

First published in Letters

I RECENTLY put a request in this column to ask if any potential relatives of mine were interested in learning about their ancestors.

I have had a few enquiries, and have now completed family trees on each of my family lines, namely, Cooper, Buggins, Moss and Thornett as well as my great-grandmother's families, Pratley, Scarrott and Holifields, so if any more readers are interested in their family history and recognise any of these surnames, and wish to learn more, I am willing to email or post what I have discovered to them.

I can be contacted by email at stuartcooper89@gmail.com or call 07910 399132.

Stuart Cooper, 1 Watermill Way, Headington, Oxford, OX3 8XA

Time and money being wasted on pipe dreams

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

11:00am Thursday 23rd October 2014

The county councillors have been dreaming of monorails, trams and now a tunnel to ease congestion, and they have brought Oxford to its knees by doing all the road works at once. So why waste time and money dreaming of schemes which are only pipedreams?

City centre size is part of the main problem

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

11:00am Thursday 23rd October 2014

Oxford is a city in distress. We have very major traffic problems at the moment and an underlying problem with our sewage system.

I don't think group has misinterpreted plans

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

11:00am Thursday 23rd October 2014

I was concerned to read Martin Rose’s letter accusing West Way Community Concern of misrepresenting the size of Doric’s proposed development at West Way, Botley – ‘Surely numbers cannot represent community?, October 16’.

Join our march against inhumane badger cull

Oxford Mail: Nurse got me through some difficult times

11:00am Thursday 23rd October 2014

It seems that the second badger cull in Gloucestershire and Somerset, like the first one, has failed to meet the targets set. This means that it is more likely to have led to the ‘perturbation effect’, where stressed badgers disperse and flee the cull zone.
