Although not an Oxfordshire resident, I do visit the country frequently and have always enjoyed my time there – it is truly a beautiful part of the UK.
I was distressed therefore to read that Enstone Parish Council has refused even to respond to more than 1,200 emails and leading animal protection groups who asked them not to display bear cubs as entertainment at their annual show.
I am saddened that the parish council of this part of Oxfordshire is so heartless and closed to reason.
I do hope that this letter raises some debate about the issue so that, when next year comes around, the council might be more inclined to listen to sensible advice.
