So now we know from the Bank of England what we suspected all along.

Not only is the economy still struggling to catch up, low wages are just not keeping pace with price rises in the shops.

The Tory and Lib Dem polices of savage cuts to local councils, benefits and everything else, have just not worked. Now low wages are holding back the recovery as people just don’t have the money to buy the things they need.

We face a choice at the next General Election between the Tories who claim the economy is fixed and Labour who will make the changes that we need.

Only a Labour Government will freeze energy bills, give tax breaks to firms who pay the Living Wage, guarantee paid work for every young person, reverse the tax cut for millionaires and balance the books.

Roll on General Election day, May 7, 2015.

Cllr John Tanner (Labour), Board Member for a Cleaner, Greener Oxford (inc. Transport), City Councillor for Littlemore & County Councillor for Isis
