Record keeping failing under these pressures

OUR wonderful Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre appears to have fallen under Government pressure to ease the long wait for appointments.

I had an appointment at the NOC for carpel tunnel problems on July 3 at 4.10pm. I had phoned the day before to check the time was correct and was asked if the appointment could be earlier as one of the doctors had an emergency.

I agreed, so 2pm was agreed for July 3. I duly attended and was seen by a doctor who recommended surgery in September as too many cortisone injections could damage hand bones and muscles.

Today, July 8, just days after the attended appointment, I received a letter from the NOC, telling me of the change of appointment time (that had passed and was attended) to the same July 3 day and 2pm time.

So, I phoned the NOC to see why I had received the letter five days after the appointment had been attended.

The NOC was not aware that I had attended and the doctor had seen me.

It seems the record keeping is failing because of Government pressure to fit in more appointments.

On Monday evening I lost my black and white whippet on the top of Boars Hill. I was told by passers-by that she was heading down Hinksey Hill towards the A34. And she did indeed go on to the dual carriageway.

Terry Roper (September 12) does not like anti-warmongers making their case publicly in Bonn Square using a megaphone. So he insults them quite gratuitously by suggesting that they support public executions etc.

I was sorry to see that the article about the Botley Fete in Tuesday’s newspaper got the date wrong.

No mention was made of political aims of fete

One of the principal aims of a Green Belt is to prevent urban sprawl. In the case of Oxford it has succeeded all too well. The combination of a tight Green Belt and a buoyant economy has resulted in the most unaffordable housing in the country, and crowded living conditions for many residents.

For the record, we will never change our name

I AM writing regarding the use of the name Isis used by a jihadist terrorist group in the Middle East. Fortunately, we here at Isis Removals have yet to receive any negative feedback in the regard to the name Isis.
