IN your paper (June 20), you quote Simon Hillcox of Doric saying they are confident that the Vale has followed all the correct procedures, and that there has been no conflict of interest over the proposed demolition of Botley’s shopping centre.
However, there has been a strong conflict of interest for the people who live here, who are faced with the prospect of two or three years without any shops, huge holes, heaps of rubble and clouds of dust instead.
Presumably the Vale’s interest is financial.
Let’s hope our councillors keep a sense of proportion and reject Doric’s mammoth plan in favour of something more human in scale and more manageable.
