SO the race begins in earnest.
The political shadow left by the reign of Keith Mitchell at Oxfordshire County Council will loom large over his successor.
Conservative councillors on the county have three comparatively contrasting figures to choose from.
The real measure of success for whoever emerges as leader will be whether they can create their own legacy, as their own man.
