THE county’s waste crusaders can feel justifiably proud of themselves at figures showing Oxfordshire recycles more than anywhere else.

There were a lot of nay-sayers who doubted the public would fall into line with recycling but many of the schemes and the education allied to them have hit the mark.

However, it would be a pity if any of the proposed changes to the county’s waste set-up saw the gains reversed and therefore they should be heavily scrutinised.
