WHILE the scourge of litter may never be completely eradicated, thousands of volunteers did their bit this weekend to spruce up the county.

Littering and fly-tipping ruin the environment and make Oxfordshire much less beautiful to look at. That’s why the volunteers who gave up their time to attack the litter and rubbish in many green spaces deserve our thanks.

They rolled up their sleeves and blitzed streets, paths and green spaces of litter and rubbish, to make them clean once again, whether part of OxClean in Oxford, or Clean for the Queen across the county.
