WITH a new year, many people spend their time looking forward to events, but often we forget those in the past.

2016 will mark 72 years since our brave men paid the ultimate sacrifice on D-Day and we must do what we can to ensure they are remembered.

It’s fitting that the bravery of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry will be brought to life on the big screen, telling the incredible story of former Oxford city policeman Major John Howard, who led his 2nd Battalion D Company on a vital operation which secured two bridges for the D-Day landings.

Let’s hope the film does all those involved the justice they deserve and is a lasting memory of their sacrifices for our freedom.
