VOLUNTEERS seem to be needed more than ever these days – and especially when helping the city’s homeless.
For Oxford’s Homeless Pathways, the New Year will bear the brunt of bad news rather than good as it deals with funding cuts and sees one of its homeless shelters, Lucy Faithfull House, close.
With cuts of 38 per cent to its annual budget, O’Hanlon House needs more than 50 volunteers to keep its kitchen services running.
It’s a shame that these services need volunteers to keep going but it’s either that or close.
