A MONTH-LONG campaign of TV adverts by Alzheimer’s Research UK should guarantee that more people are made aware of the disease and its devastating effects.

There are more than 8,000 people in Oxfordshire who are currently affected by Alzheimer’s, like Marianne Talbot, who cared for her parents when they suffered dementia, know only too well the overwhelming effect the disease has.

With an ageing population in the county this is an issue that is not going to go away, and the charity’s bid to raise more funds should be fully supported.
