THE ceremony at St Paul’s yesterday may have marked the end of the Afghanistan war, but it must not mean that military action is consigned to the shelf of history.
Britain lost 453 men and women, 13 of whom were from Oxfordshire or were based here. Officially it might be the end for the country but yesterday did not end the suffering of the grieving families.
We hope it offers them a small crumb of comfort that, as we publish the pictures of our Oxfordshire personnel today, we repeat that we will not forget our personnel’s sacrifice or their names.
