BEDBLOCKING has been a headache for Oxfordshire’s health professionals for years. And the latest figures showing that taxpayers have had to stump up more than £200,000 in recent years for patients blocking beds out of the county show it’s not going to fade anytime soon.

Various solutions have been cited. And the group behind the decisions – Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group – said weekly meetings were taking place between health and council bosses.

But it seems there is a long way to go before we start seeing real results and much more needs to be done.
