FOUR years ago she was fighting for survival after taking the drug Tamiflu for suspected swine flu.

But today Samantha Goddard finally has something to celebrate – she is expecting her first child.

The 23-year-old has battled against the odds and now plans to live independently, something she thought would be impossible.

Pictures of her in 2009 revealed the extent of the allergic reaction she had to the medication. Her body was covered in blisters so severe that her long hair had to be shaved off and she lost the top layer of her skin. She was also left blind. Doctors still don’t know if she’ll ever be able to see properly again.

Now with her first baby on the way come a fresh set of challenges, but with help and support from family and friends let’s hope she keeps fighting and looking forward to being a mum.
