A CHARITY that supports people with learning disabilities has been chosen as the local charity partner for a major supermarket.

Customers of Sainsbury's in Didcot voted for the store to help raise funds for Style Acre.

The partnership was launched with a bag-pack, with people supported by Style Acre helping customers at the tills which raised £232.25.

Philippa Stannard, head of fundraising at Style Acre said: “Everyone at Style Acre is absolutely thrilled to be local charity partner at Sainsbury's in Didcot.

"We are incredibly grateful to the public and staff, who voted for Style Acre to be the chosen charity.

"Becoming the local charity partner will make a huge difference to us.”

Style Acre and Sainsbury’s are planning more activities over the year - including a talent show for a day in December, more details will be announced soon.

Store manager Richard Hopkins said: "We're really excited to be working with Style Acre, supporting such a fantastic cause.

"Everyone at Didcot is really looking forward to working together for a successful partnership."

The two organisations have a long relationship with people supported by Style Acre being given work experience placements at the store in the past.
