EFFORTS are been ramped up to crack down on dog fouling on an estate.

Blackbird and Greater Leys residents are planning a campaign to start on Monday, September, 24 to tackle the chronic problem.

Volunteers are being asked to sign up to help with a week of enforcement, with new powers in place that has seen the maximum fine for people not cleaning up after their dogs increased from £80 to £100.

Dog poo bags will also be handed out and volunteers will speak with residents about the issues.
