A VILLAGE festival will return tomorrow with a classic car show, barbecue and children's fair.

Culham 18 is set to attract more than 800 people for a day of fun activities, live music, and fundraising.

Organiser Kitson Thomas said: “The annual Culham event is a summer highlight for many local residents and this year we hope it will be our biggest yet.

“We will be having a children’s fair, Zumba and Taekwondo displays, a classic car show, dog show, live music, a barbecue and real ale, wine and cider tent, local art and crafts on display, Morris dancers, performing arts – the list goes on.

“We have to raise funds to cover our insurance, electric, sound, infrastructure and music, so contributions and donations are much needed.

“From that, we hope to make a profit which we then donate to the local primary school and St Paul’s Church."

Persimmon Homes Wessex, which is currently building houses across Oxfordshire, gave organisers a welcome boost with a £1,000 donation to help fund the event.

Mr Thomas said: “It’s great to see Persimmon Homes Wessex getting involved with something that is so loved amongst the local community.”

Culham 18 will be on the village green from 11am until 10pm.
