A PLAN to knock down flats in Oxford and replace them with a new apartment development has been submitted to a council's planning bosses.

Developers want to knock down 20 Eynsham Road in Botley and replace them with six apartments.

The building was originally build as a two-storey single family home but was divided into two flats some time ago.

The developers, Pope Ingram Associates, said there appears to be now record of when the work was carried out.

In documents, Vale of White Horse District Council planning officers that they would be minded to support the application going ahead.

If the plan gets the go-ahead, one car parking space would be provided for each flat – and another visitor space would be provided.

Another 12 cycle spaces would be allocated and they would be covered and lockable.

"The proposal represents a balanced approached for the site and is appropriate for the area.

"The proposal would generally preserve the area and indeed compliment it with a building that would add interest and style to street scene."

The planning application is likely to get the go-ahead by Vale of White Horse District Council officers at a later date. To see the application, visit its website.
