IN A monthly newsletter a county councillor has put out a call for concerned residents to report damaged roads on Fix My Street.

Wheatley Parish Councillor, Kirsten Johnson wrote about the quantity of complaints about potholes, surfaces and pavements that she receives and the 'local concern throughout the division about the states of the roads'.

She added: "I am only allowed to chase things up if they have first been put on Fix My Street, which is checked daily."

The Wheatley Division is part of the Thame, Wheatley and Watlington Locality Group and at the last meeting area steward Keith Stenning, gave a report on the Highways.

He also agreed to send road repair statistics out weekly to the county councillors.

Dr Johnson continued: "This gives us some oversight into what is happening with repairs.

"During the week of April 30, the OCC Highways scheduled 104 repairs for Wheatley Division and

have opened investigation on 9 issues.

"The previous week, 113 repairs were scheduled.

"Very severe road defects are scheduled for a 2-hour repair window.

"The next level of repair priority is remedy within 24 hours. The other repairs are put down for 28-day repairs. Finally, some road concerns are not found to be ‘bad enough’ and they are monitored by the local highways officer."

Mr Stenning explained that they have a strict way of prioritising road concerns.
