THE first major Oxfordshire property and development festival will welcome hundreds of people and showcase 'world class' investment opportunities in the county.

The Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) has partnered with UK Property Forums to stage the event this Wednesday.

Centred around two of Oxford’s most-famous locations – the Bodleian Library and Corpus Christi College – it will feature walks, property discussions and debate, awards and music.

OxLEP CEO Nigel Tipple said: “We are delighted to be partnering with UK Property Forums to showcase the world-class investment opportunities that exist across Oxfordshire and celebrate property success within the county at the same time.

“Last autumn, PwC’s ‘Good Growth for Cities’ report announced Oxford as being one of the two highest-performing cities – in relation to growth – anywhere in the UK, reaffirming the idea that Oxfordshire maintains a world-leading economic position.

“It’s great to be a part of the first-ever festival and celebrate this thriving sector and the importance of this within the county.’’

Guests including representatives from the Harwell Campus, Oxford University, the Centre for Cities and OxLEP will give talks while the BBC's arts editor Will Gompertz will present awards recognising the best talent within the industry.

The new festival’s property walk will also follow a route across Oxford allowing participants to view major projects – either completed or currently under development.
