FREE compost is being given away by a council.

Gardeners can bring a shovel and container to Benson Parish Hall on Saturday to collect the free earth, which is made from garden waste collected from residents.

The event runs from 9am until 11am and a maximum of four containers each is available.

Free kitchen food caddies and liners will also be given away and people can sign up to the garden waste collection service.

South Oxfordshire District Council estimates it composts 20,000 tonnes of waste every year.
