EMPLOYMENT charity Aspire Oxford is to create job opportunities by organising an employers’ conference.

The event will take place at Unipart in Garsington Road, Cowley, on Wednesday, April 25.

It’s the second year running that Aspire, based in Thomas Street, has organised the conference.

This year’s event is entitled The Power of Inclusive Recruitment and runs from 9.30am until 2pm.

Aspire Oxford spokeswoman Helen Mariner said: “Businesses that offer inclusive recruitment to disadvantaged groups such as ex-offenders can benefit from filling their job vacancies with dedicated, hard-working people who just need a chance to move back into the world of work.”

The line-up of speakers will include leading employers who have seen the benefits of recruiting from disadvantaged groups.

They include Pret a Manger, University College, Oxfam and Hello Fresh.

This event is free to attend and there will be networking opportunities for local businesses.

Employers can also learn about advice and support available to give them confidence in recruiting from disadvantaged groups. The conference is backed by the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire. Email rosa@aspireoxford.co.uk
