TIME is running out to make a nomination for Thames Valley Police’s community policing awards.

The annual celebration of the force’s work in the community will be held at Eynsham Hall, near North Leigh, in May.

This ceremony is now in its 17th year and allows people across the county, and the Thames Valley, to recognise and nominate the work of officers, staff and volunteers who have made a positive contribution to their community over the past year.

The deadline for nominations is Monday.

Residents and officers have been asked to think if they know anybody deserving of one of the awards.

Assistant Chief Constable Nikki Ross emphasised the important role police play in communities throughout Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley.

She said: “Community policing remains really important to us and the contributions of our staff, volunteers and the community is rarely recognised.

“When a community works well together and individuals make things happen, it can make such a difference to people.

“These awards reward those who contribute in an exceptional way towards that partnership and make a real difference to people in our communities.”

Categories include community police officer, police community support officer, special constable, diversity champion, cadet, volunteer and more.
