AN 'INSPIRING' community group which unites people generations apart is keen to roll out at more Oxfordshire schools.

Oxford charity Full Circle is hoping to to create more groups in which children and older people find common ground.

Based at Donnington Community Centre, its groups meet at schools weekly, where children and older people have lunch and enjoy a creative activity together.

Full Circle has invited headteachers to an event on Friday, February 23, to show a film and talk about benefits of taking part.

Its chair of trustees Paul Cann said: "Sharing laughter and activities, relationships are formed which impact on the lives of everyone involved.

"I am constantly inspired by stories we hear from children, volunteers and staff."

Gillian Standing, a Full Circle trustee and co-headteacher at St Francis CE Primary School in Cowley, added: "The focus is on warmth and positive social interaction, which helps the child to relax and develop communication skills and confidence in a safe, friendly environment."
