A PETITION calling for the protection of Abingdon's Guildhall has now been signed by more than 2,000 people.
It comes despite plans announced last month to create a ‘community hub’ around the building which could see the town’s library move into the Abbey Hall.
There have been years of uncertainty around the future of the Abbey Hall, which is the 1960s extension to the historic Guildhall, and has lain empty since 2015.
Two recent public meetings about the building's future were attended by hundreds.
