A CONFIDENTIAL helpline for the city's LGBT community could receive a £12,000 towards its running costs.
The telephone service - Oxford Friend - is open three times a week and run by trained volunteers who are part of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in Oxford.
As part of Oxford City Council's community and voluntary organisations grant scheme the service has been awarded £3,000 a year for the next four years.
Another confidential helpline service, run by Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre, could also be in line for £60,000 over the next four years.
Both grants could be signed off by the council on Tuesday.
