TICKETS have now gone on sale for lectures from the star-studded line-up of scientists who are taking part in the Atom Festival 2018.
The event, which will take place from March 10-18, is Abingdon's annual celebration of science.
Speakers include The Sky at Night presenter Chris Lintott. who will present 'an evening on the final frontier' on March 16 at 6pm in Abingdon School's Amey Theatre
Other guests are Professor Marcus Du Sautoy, who has worked to popularise mathematics, experimental psychologist Professor Brian Rogers who works with how the mind perceives 3D images, and feline specialist Professor Andy Sparkes.
The eight-day event was created in 2014 by residents keen to take advantage of the town's location as an 'epicentre of UK science' due to its proximity to Harwell Campus, the Rutherford Appleton laboratory and Culham Science Centre.
There will also be interactive events such as lab-based challenges for families, plus two open-air markets in the town centre.
