HORSPATH Parish Council has said it was happy to finally agree to a war memorial on the village green.
Councillor Keith Brooks, who joined the parish council to get a permanent tribute in the village, said on Monday that the council had reached an agreement.
Chairman Peter Dobson has now confirmed: “We are pleased to be able to state that at Tuesday’s parish council meeting an important decision was made to agree an outline design and location for a new war memorial to be erected on the Horspath village green.
“This decision follows significant work carried out by members of the sub-committee consisting of parish councillors and representative of the British Legion.
“During the coming months the parish council will need to agree funding, final design and submit a planning application to South Oxfordshire District Council.”
