A GROUP opposed to a plan which could see 4,000 new homes built on Green Belt land has said it is 'fundamentally unsound'.

The chairman of the Begbroke and Yarnton Green Belt Association, Giles Lewis, sent a letter to all 48 Cherwell District councillors this week.

In it, he claimed the proposed submission plan for Begbroke, Yarnton and Kidlington has been 'rushed' and 'blatantly flawed'.

Cherwell District Council has agreed to build 4,400 homes north of Oxford with 3,900 of those on protected land.

Mr Lewis said: “Our findings show it is not fit for purpose and is procedurally unsound and legally non-compliant.”
