YOUNGSTERS splashed around in their sleepwear at a swimming fundraiser.

Puddle Ducks Oxfordshire, which provides swimming classes for babies, toddlers and children, raised £1,000 for charity at its annual pyjama party.

Families pay to take part in the event, which teaches crucial water safety and survival skills.

This year the fundraiser was in aid of SSNAP at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, which supports sick newborn babies and their parents.

Beccy Stenson, who set up the Oxfordshire branch of Puddle Ducks, said: “We are so proud of all the children, past and present, who have taken part in our charity pyjama event. It is the highlight of our year.

“We want every child to love swimming, respect the water and swim beautifully.

“Our swimming programmes also ensure that children are taught vital safety and survival skills, which could save their lives should they ever find themselves in danger in the water.”

In the past four years since the pyjama event began, groups in Oxfordshire have raised £4,710.

This year the fundraisers took place in October across Puddle Ducks’ various locations at swimming pools across the county, which include Eynsham Hall, De Vere Oxford and Radley College pool.

SSNAP helps families of babies at the hospital’s Neonatal Care Unit.
