THE FORMER Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police will speak in Oxford tomorrow.
Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe joined the South Yorkshire Police in 1979 and went on to study law at Merton College, Oxford on a police scholarship at the age of 28.
In September 2011 he was selected by the then Home Secretary, Theresa May, and London mayor, Boris Johnson, to be Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, holding the position until February.
He has also been appointed a life peer.
He will be at St Anne's College from 5.30pm, places are free but space is limited.
